We recently had a highly positive – but perhaps unusual – experience when we recently took our 2003 Dodge Truck to your dealership for emergency repairs. You see, we are from out-of-town and out-of-state, a situation that often does not bode well for the consumer. But it certainly did with you all.
On July 20th my son, who was using the truck to carry some furniture back to South Carolina, noticed a disturbing metal-on-metal sound coming from the rear end. He contacted me in Hawaii and I told him to take it to a Dodge dealership which he did the next day.
The service department (Richard- DOCS36205) got to it quickly but couldn’t find find the source of the noise or the problem. We were charged $103.79. My son picked up the truck and returned to where he was staying but the noise continued and got worse occasionally locking up the rear wheels. At this point we were both thinking that we might have to have the entire rear axle replaced so I told him to return to the shop which he did the next day.
Your service department again examined the truck, this time Richard found that the “rear driver side parking brake assembly was broken causing damage to the backing plate.” The offending part was removed and the truck returned to my son who experienced no further problems during the 600-mile trip back to SC.
There was no charge for the second visit.
I appreciate the professionalism, customer-friendly attitude and the high ethical standards which were demonstrated by this event. You all could have easily convinced us that part of the rear axle – if not the entire assembly – “needed” to be replaced and we would have never known the difference. But you didn’t. You did the right thing.
Were I to live in your area I would, without question, make Wolfchase my dealership and service department of choice.
Again, thanks for a job well done and hats off to your professional and ethical staff.
