New 2017 RAM 2500 at Wolfchase Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram for Bartlett, TN
The 2017 model year RAM 2500 is a unique kind of truck. While it has some of the most immense capabilities of any truck in its class, the 2500 also has the most refined interior. The 2500 is incredibly customizable for your needs-take your pick of engines, bed length, cabin size, transmission, and trim level. A RAM exclusive coil spring rear suspension sets the 2500 away from the competition, making it have a smooth, easy-handling ride. The RAM Power Wagon has been added to the lineup for 2017, adding in extreme off-road capabilities and a 12,000-pound electric winch. Additionally, there is a RAM 2500 4x4 Off-road Package, which adds to Crew and Mega Cab 4x4 models tow hooks, limited-slip differential, transfer case skid plate, hill-descent control, Bilstein shocks, wheel flares, on/off-road tires, and an off road decal.
Under the 2500's Hood
You can select from two gasoline engines and one diesel engine for your 2017 RAM 2500. The first engine comes standard on most trims-it's a 5.7-liter V8 capable of 383 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 400 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. The second gasoline engine is a 6.4-liter V8 that produces 410 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 429 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm. Alternatively, you can opt for a diesel engine that you can pair with a standard six-speed automatic transmission or a segment-exclusive six-speed manual transmission. When paired with the optional manual, the 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel inline-six-cylinder engine will produce 350 horsepower at 2,800 rpm and 660 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 rpm. When the same engine is paired with the automatic, it's good for 370 horsepower at 2,800 rpm and 800 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 rpm.
Design of RAM 2500
You can select from three cabins for this year's RAM 2500: regular, Crew, and Mega Cabs. There are two bed lengths, an 8-foot or a 6-foot 4-inch bed. The regular cab comes with the long bed, the Mega Cab comes only with the short bed. The Crew Cab can come with either bed. Eight trims make up the lineup of the RAM 2500-Tradesman, SLT, Big Horn, Lone Star, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Limited, and Power Wagon. The Tradesman and SLT are eligible for any of the three cabs, while all other trims are only available with the Crew and Mega Cabs. The standard equipment included with the base Tradesman includes a black grille and bumpers, vinyl upholstery, a 40/20/40-split front bench, automatic headlights, a locking tailgate, a tilting steering wheel, a stereo system with six speakers, and 17-inch steel wheels. The Limited is a luscious truck with incredible comfort, while the Power Wagon is the ultimate off-road truck.
